Boxcapsulation ("us", "we", or "our") operates the "Notes: Notebook & Reminder" mobile application (the "App").

We care deeply about your privacy, and this policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights.

1. Permissions We Request
We request the following permissions to provide essential app features:
  • INTERNET: For syncing, updates, analytics, and ads.
  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To check network availability.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To deliver reminders and alerts.
  • RECORD_AUDIO: Allows you to create voice notes.
  • SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM (Android 12 and below): For accurate note reminders.
  • AD_ID: Accesses Google Advertising ID to serve personalized ads via AdMob.
  • READ_PHONE_STATE: To detect the phone call state for enabling after-call features.
  • SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: To display an overlay window after a call for quick note-taking or reminders.
2. Features That Use Data or Media

a. Add Photos to Notes
You can attach photos to your notes using your camera or gallery. These images are:
  • Stored locally on your device
  • Not uploaded or shared unless you back them up manually

The app does not access your gallery without your explicit action.

b. Record Audio Notes
You can create audio notes. These recordings are:
  • Created only when you start recording
  • Stored only on your device

We do not upload, analyze, or share your recordings.

c. Local Backup and Restore
The app includes a local backup feature that allows you to:
  • Export your notes to a file stored on your device
  • Restore that file manually via in-app functionality

All backup files are stored locally and are not transmitted anywhere. You are responsible for storing and protecting these files.

3. Data We Collect Automatically
We may collect non-personal, anonymized data such as:

  • Device information (model, OS version, language)
  • Usage analytics (which features are used, how often)
  • Crash reports and performance data
  • Advertising ID (for ad personalization)

4. Third-Party SDKs Used

a. Firebase (Google LLC)
Used for:
  • Analytics – to understand how users use the app
  • Performance Monitoring – to fix crashes and optimize speed
  • Cloud Messaging – to send push notifications
  • All Firebase data is anonymized.

b. Google AdMob (Google LLC)
Used to display ads. AdMob may collect:
  • Ad interaction data
  • Device information
  • Google Advertising ID
You can opt out of personalized ads in your device’s ad settings.

c. Meta Audience Network
Used for additional ad monetization. Facebook may collect device and interaction data for ad delivery.

5. In-App Payment & Subscription Information
Our App may offer premium features or ad-removal options through in-app purchases and subscriptions:
  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely via Google Play Billing. We do not store or have access to your payment information.
  • Subscriptions: Subscriptions may renew automatically. You can manage or cancel subscriptions anytime through your Google Play account settings.
  • Data Access: Google may provide us with non-sensitive purchase details (e.g., subscription status) to enable premium features.
  • Refunds & Cancellations: Refund requests are handled by Google Play in accordance with its policies.
  • Policies: All in-app purchases and subscriptions are subject to Google Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
6. Security and Personal Data Privacy
Your data security is important to us:
  • No personally identifiable data (like name, email, or contacts) is collected.
  • Photos, audio, and backups remain on your device unless you manually share or export them.
  • We use trusted SDKs (Firebase, Google, Facebook) that follow strong security protocols.
  • Any data collected via third-party SDKs is anonymized and used only for improving app performance and monetization.
7. Your Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights, and we aim to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data. Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

If we gain actual knowledge that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without the requisite and verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our servers.   • Deletion: Uninstall the App to remove all associated data from your device.
